Mésothéliome pleural malin.

Le mésothéliome malin est une tumeur principalement associée à l'exposition aux fibres d'amiante, qui se développe essentiellement dans la cavité pleurale et dont l'issue est souvent fatale. Le but de la recherche de notre groupe est d'arriver à une meilleure compréhension du développement du mésothéliome afin de trouver une approche thérapeutique permettant de mieux gérer et maîtriser son évolution. En effet, le mésothéliome malin pose deux problèmes majeurs, un problème de diagnostic parce qu'il est non identifiable au stade précoce de la maladie et un problème thérapeutique par la résistance qu'il oppose aux traitements de chimio- et radiothérapie classiques. Nos projets de recherche ont pour objectif :

- D'identifier de nouveaux marqueurs permettant une meilleure caractérisation des différents types de mésothéliomes
- De définir le rôle du processus inflammatoire (rôle des cellules inflammatoires, des cytokines et chimiokines) dans l'apparition, la multiplication et la différentiation des cellules mesothéliales malignes.
