Advanced Human-Machine Interfaces in Clinical Settings
Christian Lovis' fields of research focuses on three major fields. The first one is clinical information systems, from their architectures to their use to improve patient safety, care efficiency and
strategic governance. The second field is around advanced human-machine interfaces, including 3D, augmented reality, contact-free, or innovative interaction paradigms, especially in
cooperative/collaborative systems; but also quantified self, self monitoring, captors, etc., including environmental captors, and especially focusing in integration software platform to integrate various sources. We
are also working on specifics of bio-captors for elderly, such as elderly-adapted activity captors. Finally, one of the results of the two first is data, and Big data (or shall I say smart data) in
health care, how to integrate multisource, multimodal data; how to represent persistent semantics; how to interact with very large data sets, multimensional datasets, etc. is one of our current important
research fields. Finally, Formal evaluation of human machine interfaces, human factors, ergonomics, with techniques such as eye-tracking and a dedicated Evaluation Lab at our premises in Geneva.
